So you recently released a single called “Not Tonight” which is incredible! Seriously one of my favorite songs right now. Do you plan to release an album soon?

I’m just trying to stockpile songs at the moment to pick from and release another EP hopefully before the end of the year. I’m thinking 2020 is the right time to put out a full-length record. Fingers crossed.

What’s your favorite thing about living in Birmingham?

The community. It’s big enough that you are constantly meeting new people and making friends and small enough that you get to see the ones you’ve had pretty frequently.
The close-knit group of musicians and artists here make it home.
We all have love and respect for one another. We’re family.
You hear a lot of female musicians these days calling out radio stations for not playing more female artists, especially in country music. How do you think musicians and the music community can change that?
I don’t listen to the “country” radio stations too much. I don’t tend to like what I’m hearing when I do. I do know that this is a man’s world, the genre that I’m in especially. The only thing I can say is exactly what I have been trying to do when I’m put in similar situations. Handle everything as gracefully as possible, but take no s—. If something is unfair, say so. We are just as valid and talented as the others, male or female. There will be times where we will be treated poorly and not taken seriously for it but be unafraid to confront it. That’s how we correct it.

Growing up, which artist had the most influence on you?

Anyone that knows me can give you this answer. I always have looked to Stevie (Nicks) as a guiding light. She was bold and embraced who she was, whether it be in her writing, her fashion, or most importantly, her voice.

If you could go back in time, what would you tell your younger self?

Be honest- to yourself and to others. Don’t be ashamed of who you are and where you’re from. Work harder for things you want, and don’t try tequila, because you’re gonna like it too much.
