Here’s a bold statement: expect this to be the best performance of the weekend. Dr. Dog offers premium songwriting loosely mirroring The Beatles, with unexpected time changes, psychedelic-inspired weirdness, ingenious melodies and refreshing vocal harmonies that turn bad days into good days. Over 70 artists will perform at The Hangout Music Festival in Gulf Shores, AL this weekend. These are the 20 artists that Mother Plug Music is excited to see perform. Check out our recommendations below, in no particular order, as you begin to plan your weekend!

  1. The Revivalists

Formed in New Orleans, this crew has a sweet rock n’ roll sound with a NOLA-funk soul. This seven-piece brings all the feels to the stage, from their hit song “SoulFight” to their newly released “Wish I Knew You,” as seen on the Today Show.  They were listed by Rolling Stone as one of the “Top Ten Bands You Need to Know.” The Revivalists will perform on the BMI Stage on Friday, May 20 at 6:15pm

Big Boi from Outkast collaborates with Phantogram to create the magnetic sound of Big Grams. Electronic, pop and rap music come together smoothly for these legendary artists. Big Grams performs at the Surf Stage on Friday, May 20 at 2:30pm.
