Twenty Artists You Must See at Hangout 2016
Over 70 artists will perform at The Hangout Music Festival in Gulf Shores, AL this weekend. These are the 20 artists that Mother Plug Music is excited to see perform. Check out our recommendations below, in no particular order, as you begin to plan your weekend!
Formed in New Orleans, this crew has a sweet rock n’ roll sound with a NOLA-funk soul. This seven-piece brings all the feels to the stage, from their hit song “SoulFight” to their newly released “Wish I Knew You,” as seen on the Today Show. They were listed by Rolling Stone as one of the “Top Ten Bands You Need to Know.” The Revivalists will perform on the BMI Stage on Friday, May 20 at 6:15pm.
Big Boi from Outkast collaborates with Phantogram to create the magnetic sound of Big Grams. Electronic, pop and rap music come together smoothly for these legendary artists. Big Grams performs at the Surf Stage on Friday, May 20 at 2:30pm.

My phone rang and on the other end I could hear the zipping-up of equipment, a man on the move. But his voice came through patient and courteous, and he politely gave me the heads up, “I have about 15 minutes before I get on the bus and it’s really loud.”
It took me a minute to get my bearings, because I had just taken a call from one of my favorite musicians. I was talking to The Revivalists’ front man, David Shaw. The Revivalists just performed at the Telluride Blues and Brews Festival where the Rocky Mountains served as the backdrop with Anders Osborne, Greg Allman, ZZ Top and a long list of others. They were now settling back into their home on wheels. Their next stop was Dallas. Then on to Austin. And on and on again, in relentless and tireless support of their latest album, Men Amongst Mountains
