Picture yourself a young musician watching primetime television, a music awards show, and suddenly one of your idols and most respected musicians in the game premiers a commercial about a music service that features non other than…your music! Well that’s exactly what happened one night when someone pointed out a commercial for Jay-Z’s new streaming service, Tidal, during The Billboard Music Awards. The soundtrack to the commercial was “Dopeboy Dreaming,” by Nashville native and the son of a Jazz musician, Mike Floss. Since then, Mike has been busy. In between time putting pen to paper and recording, he’s managed to find time to tour with and open for artists like Future, Big K.R.I.T., Wale and Yo Gotti just to name a few. He’s been working with producers Syk Sense (Drake, Travis Scott, Kendrick Lamar) and Ducko McFli (Drake, Migos, Lil Yachty). He was active on the 2017 music festival circuit and a favorite at this year’s Sloss Music & Arts Festival.

You can see MusicBham’s exclusive interview with Mike Floss in this episode of Welcome to Monotonia from Sloss Music & Art’s Festival below. Then you can go see Mike perform live tonight, Friday,…
