The Writer’s Share presents: Shannon LaBrie, Kyshona and Colin Lake
Colin Lake. Part songwriter, part blues singer, part slide guitar wiz, Colin Lake is paving a musical road all his own. At the beginning of 2009, that road brought the Pacific Northwest native to New Orleans and it wasn’t long before his powerful voice could be heard regularly at venues and festivals throughout the city and around the country. Marked by soulful, pleading vocals, Lake’s music incorporates elements of soul, rock and folk to create a sound and feel that is strongly original and disarmingly familiar.
In the past year, Lake has opened for acts like Dr. John and Gary Clark Jr, and performed at festivals around the country, including the Austin City Limits Music Festival, Alabama’s Hangout Beach, Music and Arts Festival and the legendary New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival.

Adept on the piano and guitar, the singer/songwriter says she was “raised on James Taylor and Lauren Hill.” Music Connection named her as one of the “Best Unsigned Artists of 2013” and Labrie’s debut at Austin City Limits Music Festival earned her several impressive reviews of her live performance.
