Portugal. The Man will be playing a benefit concert organized by NOISE FOR NOW. NOISE FOR NOW is a national initiative that enables performers to connect with, and financially support, grassroots organizations that are dedicated to empowering women
and protecting women’s health and abortion rights. All proceeds from this benefit will go directly to Planned Parenthood Southeast and the Dr. Willie Parker Fund. The band states, “As we tour the world we get to see a lot of different places and with that comes many different attitudes, and it is clear that women’s equality has a long way
to go. We love the way NOISE FOR NOW takes a grassroots approach to making a difference in local communities. We hope we get a lot of people out to the show to help raise money and awareness for equality.”

Planned Parenthood Southeast believes in the fundamental right of each individual to manage his or her fertility, regardless of the individual’s income, marital status, race, ethnicity, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, religion, disability, or residence. PPSE believes that reproductive self-determination must be voluntary, and that…

BECK

Beck has traveled light years from being pegged as a reluctant generational spokesperson
when “Loser” metamorphosed from a rejected demo in 1992 to a ubiquitous smash by
1994. In the decades since, he has crystallized much of the post-modern ruckus of the ‘90s
alternative explosion, but in his own unpredictable manner: Beck’s singular career has
been one thats seen him utilize all manners and eras of music, blurring boundaries and
blazing a path into the future while simultaneously foraging through the past.
Surfacing just as alternative rock went mainstream, no small thanks to his 1994 debut
Mellow Gold, Beck quickly confounded expectations with subsequent releases including the
lo-fi folk of One Foot in the Grave.  But the album that truly cemented Beck’s place in the
pantheon was…

Young The Giant

Young The Giant
HOME OF THE STRANGE IS….
….the culmination of a year and a half’s worth of internal and external exploration, both a labor of love and humility. If nothing else, we have learned a lot about ourselves as writers, and human beings, and if I am fortunate (or unfortunate) enough to live long and look lazily upon my life, I will remember “Home of the Strange” as our modest coming of age story; a moment that will cast long, happy, shadows in the dog days.

For us, the tour was a victory lap after several years of sprinting through life. Gratitude is a difficult concept for the human animal; us, who are often fickle, unimpressed, bored. This disquiet is what propels us all to do scary, beautiful, impactful things, but it also plots our depression, our manias, our great undoing. On that tour we felt gratitude; this magnificent calmness, that made everything in the world full of…
