Month of Sundays

The Auburn University students who started Month of Sundays didn’t do so with the intention of writing original music, they just wanted to hear a band cover all their college radio faves…and in the late 80’s that wasn’t so easy to do. Bar bands in that era weren’t banging out U2, REM, The Replacements, and other early alternative giants but, rather, they were playing Stones-y rock or Top 40 hits. After a couple of years on the college circuit Month of Sundays moved to Atlanta and threw the switch from being a cover band to being all original. 4 records, 800 shows, and one USO tour to Korea and Japan later, MOS left the building. They’ll be playing a combination of those golden era of college rock covers and a few choice originals from their catalog at Zydeco on June 24th.
