CukoRakko Summer Series at Trim Tab Brewery presents Winston Ramble

The CukoRakko Music and Arts Festival hosts the CukoRakko Summer Series at Trim Tab Brewery every Wednesday throughout July. This Wednesday, they play host to Birmingham’s own Winston Ramble.Winston Ramble is a homegrown, acoustic, folk-rock band. With members originally hailing from the free state of Winston County, AL, the band aims to interject the raw expression of rock-n-roll into the feel-good vibes of acoustic music.

The sound of an old southern soul hits you right out of the gate. Drew “Ben” Benefield’ s vocals are soulful and still gritty. Combine that with some mandolin twang and church-like harmonies and you’ll probably be left feeling like you’re listening to a mix between a classic rock band and a gospel bluegrass quartet. Yet, the acoustically driven grooves carry a funky, psychedelic, but ultimately, an undeniable rock n’ roll vibe.

CukoRakko Summer Series at Trim Tab Brewery presents Soul Mechanic

The CukoRakko Music and Arts Festival hosts the CukoRakko Summer Series at Trim Tab Brewery every Wednesday throughout July. This Wednesday, they play host to Chattanooga’s  Soul Mechanic. Soul Mechanic is a unique ensemble compiled of seasoned and schooled musicians, whose journey propels them through harmonies, melodies and intricate funk-inspired jam music rhythms. The trip began in 2009 when college students Tyler Reddick and Clark Jackson decided to proclaim their ode’ to funk. Singer and bassist Tyler Reddick studied music at Chattanoooga State and brings a creative funk outlook to the band. Clark Jackson is a graduate from The Atlanta Institute of Music, being a college athlete before a musician, he brings the intensity from the field to the stage. The band started as a four piece with a supporting cast of musicians such as Ben Cooper, Yattie Westfield, and Tyler Wright. After three years of finding their sound they finally found THE group in long time friends William English and Kyle Kinzalow, who were members of the previous endeavor Dose Mojo. William and Kyle decided after a jam session that they wanted to make Soul Mechanic their full-time job….

CukoRakko Summer Series at Trim Tab Brewery presents Albert Simpson

The CukoRakko Music and Arts Festival hosts the CukoRakko Summer Series at Trim Tab Brewery every Wednesday throughout July. This Wednesday, they play host to Gadsden, AL’s Albert Simpson. Simpson performs mostly solo with the acoustic guitar while utilizing percussion instruments. Simpson’s folksy back porch flavor makes his music feel like an old friend. After performing for over twenty years, this artist is now known as one of the best solo acts on the scene. His southern fried folk funk flavor is intoxicating! After recording with Johnny Sandlin, who produced great acts like The Allman Brothers Band and Widespread Panic, Johnny brought his expertise to “Don’t Wake Albert”, which was Albert’s first studio project. The CD received raving reviews in publications such as: Vintage Guitar Magazine, Relix, and Hittin’ the Note. It has even been said that it ranks as one of Johnny’s best projects, and parallels his work on Widespread Panic’s landmark second album.
