Umphrey’s McGhee

UMPHREYS MCGHEE

After 17-plus years of performing more than 100 concerts annually, releasing eight studio albums and selling more than 3.5 million tracks online, Umphrey’s McGee might be forgiven if they chose to rest on their laurels. But then that wouldn’t be consistent with the work ethic demonstrated by the band, which consistently attempts to raise the bar, setting and achieving new goals since forming on the Notre Dame campus in South Bend, Indiana, in 1997. After releasing their eighth studio album, Similar Skin, the first for their own indie label, Nothing Too Fancy (N2F) Music (distributed by RED), the group continue to push the envelope and test the limits. Their brand-new studio album, The London Session, was a dream come true for the members having been recorded at the legendary Studio Two at historic Abbey Road. The stealth recording session yielded 10 tracks in a single day, proving once again, the prolific UM waits for no one.

The Cheesebrokers

THE CHEESEBROKERS

The Cheesebrokers are the inventors of the all 80’s, hair metal, one hit wonder, cover bands! You won’t hear any better CHEESY 80’s, sing-along songs anywhere around! GUARANTEED! The Cheesebrokers started in Tuscaloosa, Alabama at the University of Alabama around 1990. Between then and now The Cheesebrokers have taken on many forms. Colonel Kegg (The Keggenator) is the only remaining original member. Hambone joined the force around 1995. He has been around long enough to have been a smoker when he joined, quit for many years and start back again. Sugah Valentino has always been a Cheesebroker in spirit. It was just matter of time before paths crossed. The untimely demise of Johnny Nitro was a hard blow, but occasionally you’ll see his twin “Biscuit” show up. Mr. Brownstone has been a embryonic Cheesebroker with a gestation period of about 15 years. He is unpredictable and can explode at any moment!

Future Primitives

Formed in 2012, Future Primitives is a six piece from Birmingham, Alabama. Equipped with a revolutionary psychedelic gospel they create music to dissolve the ego and invoke the soul. Their music could be described as raw garage power pop at the core but punk, blues and
psychedelic pop songs help create a “Freak Power Unlimited” sound. In 2013, they released their debut album “Erase The Future and Hope for Now” and in 2016 released their follow up “We Jam Apollo.”

Easy Roscoe

In the brisk December 2015 breeze, Easy Roscoe embarked on their expedition to create their second record. Three months later, they emerged with a warm, soulfully matured blend of good times and good vibes party rock. The new EP, Piñata, is a conduit to Easy Roscoe’s fun atmosphere and catchy story telling lyrics. Their affection for replacing the day’s worries with good vibes shows up throughout the EP on songs like “Green Leather Jacket” and “Roll Baby Roll”. “If you can’t bob your head to this, then you don’t have a head.” This being the whimsical phrase uttered in the control room…

Eric Hutchinson

Eric Hutchinson

In 2011, singer/songwriter Eric Hutchinson finished performing one of his thrilling, captivating and soulful shows on stage in Northampton, MA and was invited to an after-party at a dance club. He reluctantly tagged along, expecting to be subjected to a night of FloRida, Pitbull and Techno. Instead, Hutchinson discovered The Basement, an all-soul dance party happening in the basement of a deserted nightclub. “The place was packed with people dancing to Marvin Gaye, The Shirelles and Stevie Wonder”, remembers Hutchinson. “It was fantastic, like stepping into a time warp. I had finally found people who loved all the same classics songs I do.” The night inspired him to pen his hit song “The Basement”, recounting the evening. Now, Hutchinson, is recreating that magic night by presenting THE BASEMENT – a DJ dance party featuring Motown, Funk, Soul & Oldies. “I wanted an excuse to play all the amazing soul and rock & roll songs I listen to at home, but this way I get to listen on much bigger speakers” Hutchinson jokes. Expect plenty of Otis Redding, Aretha Franklin, Michael Jackson & James Brown. Bring your dancing shoes.

Mobley/ Loveislight

MOBLEY

Mobley is hitting the road to promote their latest release, Young Adult Fiction. The album is a darker, moodier affair than their sunny 2011 release, Let Slip. Across seven tracks, the band explores themes of love and loneliness with a soul-baring lyrical directness. The songs range from the sensually minimalistic (“The New Black”, “Witch Me Well”) to off-kilter bass/drum grooves (“The Editor”, “Young Adult Fiction”) to hooky, self-assured dance pop (“Torch”, “Selfsame”). The release has received praise from the Austin Chronicle and Ovrld named it the #6 Best Austin Album of 2012, stating ‘Mobley crafts a clear identity and sound that (are) shockingly original and totally irresistible’.

With performances at South by Southwest and CMJ and nearly a hundred dates at venues across the midwest and east coast last year, they lit up stages with a fury that led the Houston Examiner to rave, ‘even the most devout head-nodding hipster (would be) ashamed not to dance’. Charismatic frontman/songwriter Anthony Watkins II (who played everything except bass on the band’s latest album) and utility man Tim Shelburne pass instruments back and forth on nearly every song as they give life to Mobley’s distinct brand of…
